Genera 2024, the trade fair for renewable energies and energy efficiency, was held on from 6 to 8 February at IFEMA MADRID - Recinto Ferial, Av. Partenón 5, 28042 Madrid. As one of the largest solar show since it was first held in 2003, it attracts thousands of attendees every year, providing a platform for developers, EPCs, and manufacturers to communicate. The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, along with the Third Vice President of the Government and Minister for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, Teresa Ribera, have inaugurated Genera, the International Fair of Energy and Environment. A new event that boasts a 25% increase in the number of companies compared to the previous edition, totaling 208 companies from 23 countries.

According to the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan updated by MITECO in 2023, the PV installed capacity of Spain is expected to reach 76GW, which means in the following years Spain will keep around 7GW annual new additions.
